About me
Let me introduce myself: my name is Nicla, and I am an Italian teacher now, but most importantly, I used to be a language student. I have studied many of them, almost always with pleasure, sometimes with difficulty, and not always with excellent results.
And yet, I always carry with me the sense of satisfaction I felt at those times when I managed to communicate in another language. Perhaps this is one of the reasons that inspired me to become a teacher: to convey the joy one feels when one is able to communicate.
I have been teaching Italian as a foreign language and second language for many years (since 2004).
I hold a Master’s degree in Foreign languages and literatures, from the University of Pisa, and a Ditals level II certificate, from the University for Foreigners of Siena.
Throughout my journey, I have encountered many different students and teaching methods, and these have all enriched my experience and practice.
Currently, I work face to face and online.
My experience includes working in Italy, the Czech Republic, Germany and England, with adults, teenagers and children. In large classes, small groups, and individual lessons.
Teaching Italian is a never ending joy and a journey of discovery.
How do I work?
Each of us has a personal key to learning, and I always try to unlock a student’s motivation – when I can tap into this, we will see good results, which in turn encourages us to engage and communicate even more.
I collaborate with Italian learners, working alongside them to help them achieve their language goals.
I love teaching Italian, to spread the joy of communicating in another language, and help others find pleasure in getting to know a different culture.
